We have set up 51 rafts for waterbirds on the canals and ponds. Some are already inhabited, which makes us very happy. Some of them were built as part of previous participatory budgeting projects; we are gradually replacing the older ones with new ones. We also have more and more rafts every year.
Birds use our rafts at fifteen locations, including the Piaseczyński Canal and the ponds in the following parks: Pole Mokotowskie, Ujazdowski, Powstańców Warszawy, Arkadia, Dolinka Służewska, Ogród Saski, as well as the Brustman Ponds.
From spring to autumn, our contractor monitors the condition of the rafts and repairs them on site if necessary. In autumn, the rafts are removed from the water, cleaned, repaired and prepared for the following season, and in early spring they return to the water.
